“NATIONAL AWARD PAOLO BORSELLINO 2021, with the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, Award established in 1992 by the magistrate Antonino Caponnetto, head of the Antimafia pool.

The immortal judge Paolo Borsellino

HONORED, MOVED, I will receive the Paolo Borsellino National Award FOR JOURNALISM, on October 29 at the Pescara Theater, with the other winners for different sections, by the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Attorney Federico Cafiero De Raho, guarantor of the Award and by the President the Quaestor Luigi Savina. In the link at the bottom of the post, read the outcome of today’s Prize Press Conference in Pescara. There will be many personalities and I am happy to tell you about it. Because I met Paolo Borsellino after my graduation, I collaborated with the newspaper L’ORA DI PALERMO and he gave me my first scoop on the Arenella clans, the couple who started to produce in the laboratory, a synthetic drug, “benzoil -tropein”. My scoop ended up on the front page, it was the 80s. I then produced Speciale tg1 with Monica Maggioni at the Speciali, title THE MAN WHO KNEW TO DIE, on the massacre in via D’Amelio and on the last month of Paolo’s life Borsellino, made a 15% share and the TV critic of Corriere della Sera, Aldo Grasso, framed it positively. I love the Borsellino family, with Salvatore Borsellino, Paolo’s brother, I met and interviewed Agnese Borsellino, a woman of great value, with her children.

I met Judge Paolo Borsellino and he gave me my first scoop as a journalist. I was sent to the Capaci massacre on May 23 29 years ago and I recorded the last interview with Agnese Borsellino, wife of the judge murdered in via D’Amelio with the policemen in his escort on July 19, 1992.

On 7 November in the late evening on Raiuno my Special Tg1 entitled ‘End of sentence’ on the abolition of life imprisonment by the ECHR and the Constitutional Court will be broadcast. I have interviewed numerous lawyers and magistrates. A must see!

I sacrificed my life in the service of the citizens and with the headwind of the strong powers, for which I was penalized. But I never lowered my head.
I CLAIM THE TRUTH ABOUT THE MASSACRE OF VIA D’AMELIO WITH THE WHOLE CIVIL SOCIETY.
WE WANT PRINCIPALS!”
